Terms of Service

1. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old to use GearUp. You are responsible for your account, the accuracy of your profile, and activity performed through your account. Do not share sign-in credentials or impersonate another person.

2. Marketplace content

You are responsible for listings, photos, messages, offers, and other content you submit. You must have the rights needed to post that content, and it must be accurate and lawful.

You retain ownership of your content. You grant GearUp a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, and distribute that content only as reasonably necessary to operate, improve, protect, and promote GearUp. This license ends when the content is deleted, except for limited copies retained for security, legal compliance, or backup cycles.

3. Prohibited conduct and items

Do not post stolen, counterfeit, illegal, fraudulent, or unsafe items; drugs; firearms; ammunition; or content that infringes another person's rights. Do not harass, threaten, deceive, spam, scrape, interfere with the service, or attempt unauthorized access. The Community Guidelines provide additional examples.

4. Transactions

GearUp helps users discover gear and communicate. GearUp does not process payments or delivery and is not a party to transactions. Buyers and sellers are responsible for price, payment, inspection, authenticity, ownership, pickup, and trade arrangements.

5. Safety

Inspect equipment carefully, verify that it is appropriate for its intended use, meet in a public place, tell someone where you are going, and do not proceed when a situation feels unsafe. GearUp support is not an emergency service.

6. Moderation and enforcement

GearUp may investigate reports, remove content, restrict features, suspend accounts, or terminate accounts when reasonably necessary to enforce these terms, protect users, comply with law, or preserve the service. Users can report listings or users and block unwanted contact from inside the app.

7. Account deletion

You can permanently delete your account from Profile in the app. Because conversations are shared records, deleting your account may remove conversations for other participants. Limited information may be retained when reasonably necessary for fraud prevention, security, legal compliance, or enforcement.

8. Service availability and responsibility

GearUp is provided on an as-available basis. To the extent allowed by law, GearUp does not guarantee uninterrupted availability, listing accuracy, item condition, transaction completion, or user conduct. Nothing in these terms excludes rights that cannot legally be excluded.

9. Changes

GearUp may update these terms as the service or legal requirements change. The effective date will be updated, and material changes may also be communicated in the app. Continued use after the updated terms take effect means you accept them.
